I loved collaborating with Mighty Oak as art director and character designer for 6 episodes of Disney Sidekicks.
From Olaf and Sven in Frozen to Pua and Heihei in Moana, Cinderella’s trusty mice, Maximus and Pascal from Tangled, Abu and Raja from Aladdin, and the iconic duo Mushu and Cri-Kee, these beloved Disney characters get their moment to shine in a series of miniature paper worlds.
Created using a down-shooter setup, this handcrafted cut paper animation features tiny articulated paper puppets, replacement pieces, and lots of little moving parts, all brought to life frame by frame. We also made a behind-the-scenes video showing how the paper magic came together!
